GRAPHIC DESIGN

RESTAURANT
WEBSITE DESIGN

For the past few years, I’ve had the pleasure of overseeing design at Cafeteria, an iconic restaurant in New York City. With the slogan, “You are. You Eat.”, the brand is known for it’s fashionable and inclusive personality. To celebrate their 25th anniversary, they asked that I fully redesign their website. I made sure to keep the design clean and simplistic, but also fun and distinctive. Once the designs were approved, I collaborated with a web developer who coded my vision into reality.

HEALTHCARE
VEHICLE WRAP

NYU Langone Health is a world-renowned healthcare institution that I’ve had the honor to work at for nearly two decades, making me its longest-standing in-house design resource. Here specifically, I worked with the Ophthalmology group to create a concept for their Mobile Eye Center. I wanted a bold, eye-catching design, so I emphasized NYU’s purple to make this unmistakable from any distance. Also seen here are posters I created to enhance the brand experience that have the same deliberate use of purple.

REAL ESTATE
DIGITAL NEWSLETTER

I have worked with many real estate agents over the years. Several have been from Douglas Elliman, an international agency and one of the most coveted in New York. The Novo Team at Douglas Elliman, seen here, tasked me with creating informational newsletters about the current real estate market. I did so using large, bold imagery of the skyline and creating clear infographics displaying specific metrics on the market. I also redesigned the team’s logo, bringing it to life through animation.

CONSULTING COMPANY
PRINT PORTFOLIO

DAX Construction & Consulting is a construction consulting firm based in New York City. I was brought on to design the company logo, and then asked to create a printed portfolio to showcase projects that the firm has overseen. To create a sense of movement and excitement, I used the angle from the logo design’s negative space as a major design element in the portfolio’s layout. For example, it was used to crop awe-inspiring photography for each entry.

RESTAURANT
E-BLASTS

Another iconic restaurant in New York City that I oversee design for is Empire Diner. The art-centric brand is known for it’s modern take on classic aesthetics. As their main design resource, they requested that I manage their digital marketing campaigns which includes design and output to their contact lists of 250,000+ unique emails.

LUXURY RESORT
PROMOTIONAL ITEMS

Sai Daeng Resort is a luxury resort located on the island of Koh Tao in the Gulf of Thailand. As their freelance creative director, I redesigned the logo, created sub-brands, and output overall branding guidelines. I was also flown to the resort and worked with management to create various promotional items to reflect the essence of the resort and the island.

ACADEMIC
DIGITAL GRAPHICS

Working at NYU Langone Health for so many years has given me unrivaled knowledge of healthcare design, as well as academic design because NYU Langone Health is a hospital and an educational institution. Here I worked with NYU Langone’s Continuing Medical Education program to create digital graphics for 150+ unique courses. Each design follows specific brand guidelines set out by NYU Langone’s Communications and Marketing department.

WEDDING
EVENT COLLATERAL

A true labor of love, I was asked to oversee the brand development, creative direction, design, and sourcing for all items relating to the wedding of freelance clients, Justin and Nick. This project will always be special to me because this wedding (between two men) took place only a year after gay marriage was legalized here in the US. I wanted the letters J and N to come together in a subtle way that could be used creatively throughout, like the die cut on the main invite or the airplane tail on the brunch invite.

SHORT FILM
SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGN

The producer of short film, What the Sparrow Said, tapped me as creative director for all post-production visual design. This included designing the logo for the film, as well as creative direction for a social media campaign focused on brand recognition. Since the title and subject matter for this film revolve around dialogue, I wanted the design to emphasize the simplicity and power of typography.

ART INSTALLATION
PACKAGING DESIGN

Cafeteria, known for its creative energy, has a private dining room with a massive wall dedicated to art installations. I have collaborated with Cafeteria’s team for several of these works of art. Seen here are components of one installation that consisted of mock grocery store items. I designed each item’s packaging and/or labeling to follow the unique and retro voice of the brand. Another installation example I created showing the full wall is on my Fine Art page and can be seen here.

COACHING
WEBSITE DESIGN

Max Impact Coaching is a leadership coaching company started by a former colleague of mine from NYU Langone Health. I was given full responsibility to create the brand and design the accompanying website. A more in-depth description on the brand creation and development for this entry can be found here.
